CONCERNED CITIZENS OF CONROE

Helps people focus on six core issues, which CCC has determined need Biblical principles applied the most and which will have the greatest impact on our society. The vision of CCC is to restore the family to its traditional purpose and thereby allow each member of the family to realize their God given potential and be more responsible citizens.
The mission of CCC is to protect and promote Biblical values among all citizens - first through prayer, then education, and finally influencing our society, thereby reversing the decline in moral values in our nation.
DEACON WIDOW MINISTRY

Deacons are assigned one or more widows who are members of WCBC. This deacon may minister to his widow(s) in a number of ways. He might mow her yard, repair her house, send her a card, pay a visit, or he and his wife might take her out to dinner for a special occasion. In February each year the Naomi Banquet is a much looked forward to occasion for widows, deacons, and deacons' wives. The deacon and his wife usually pick up his widow(s) and take her to the banquet where they have a wonderful meal and entertainment. Mainly, it is the deacon's responsibility to check on his widow(s) to see if there is a specific need.
FOOD PANTRY

The Food Pantry is supported by donations of food and money by WCBC members. A list of foods needed is provided as a guideline for donations. A good supply of food is given - usually enough for 4 or 5 meals. A needy family can call the church office and their name will then be given to Joyce and Charles Staples who get in touch with the family to assess needs and then help accordingly. For example, a family who has lost everything through fire, flood, etc. might receive clothing and other items, in addition to the food. Every year volunteers pack and distribute Thanksgiving Baskets to several needy families.
GREETER MINISTRY (INSIDE FOYER)

Greeters meet and greet people as they come in the door, handing them a Worship Guide, directing visitors to Bible Study classes and/or child care.
GRIEFSHARE

A special weekly seminar and support group for people who are grieving the death of someone close to them. It's a place to be around people who understand what you are feeling. At GriefShare, you'll learn valuable information about recovering from your grief and renewing your hope for the future. Meets at 6:00 pm on Wednesday in the Sunroom at Hilltop.
HANDYMAN MINISTRY

Helps widows and those without an able-bodied person in the home. The volunteers do handyman work for them at no charge.
THE HEALING PLACE

All age groups encounter difficult times. West Conroe Baptist Church has created a Counseling Center just for those times. We have professional and certified counselors to aide you through your time of need.
HOUSTON AREA CHRISTIAN OUTDOOR ALIANCE (HACOA)
An Outreach Ministry focusing on those who have a common interest in the outdoors and a desire to reach others for Jesus Christ by using outdoor events as a platform. This organization has combined hunting leases and hunting events, shooting events, and fishing events to foster parent/child bonding, Christian fellowship and ultimately an opportunity to be able to share Christ with non-believers who have a love for the outdoors. This is open to anyone, believer or non-believer, members of other churches, and you are encouraged to get involved.
INTERCESSORY PRAYER

Church Members volunteer to schedule an hour a week to come to the Prayer Room and intercede for family, friends, the church, missionaries, our leaders, our country, and the world! Specific needs are listed and kept in a book which stays in the prayer room to be consulted by the volunteers during their hour to pray. There is a direct line to the prayer room (936) 760-1913, or requests may be called in to the church office or submitted on line to the WCBC web site.
IN TOUCH (HOMEBOUND MINISTRY)

There are approximately 12 volunteers who minister to those physically unable to be in Bible Study and worship, making regular visits, leading in Bible Study, having prayer and fellowship. The volunteers may also take tapes of sermons, and literature (such as Mature Living and Open Windows), send cards on birthdays and other special occasions, and some even take a little gift almost every time they go. Fruit Baskets and flowers are also provided on special occasions. In addition, Church bulletins and prayer sheets are mailed weekly from the church office, and about 3 times a year there is a luncheon with a special program at the church for the homebound.
The volunteers add their own special touch to the ministry, and are dedicated to taking care of those who have been assigned to them, making friends, and being blessed by the very people to whom they minister. One volunteer described hers as such awesome Christians who show their faith and have a passion for sharing the gospel with others.
INTERFAITH HOSPITALITY NETWORK

We are networked with area churches to provide temporary housing for families as they transition through various hardships during this life stage. Please refer the calendar section on our website for our next week to host families for Interfaith Hospitality.
JAIL MINISTRY (MONTGOMERY COUNTY)

A regular service is held at the Montgomery County Jail every Thursday afternoon. There is a need for others to step in and start new ministries. The Jail Chaplain, Dennis Anderson, oversees and approves all volunteers who work very closely with him.
MEN'S FRATERNITY

Men's Fraternity is a series of three one-year long studies, beginning with The Quest for Authentic Manhood, followed by Authentic Manhood: Winning at Work and Home, and concluding with Authentic Manhood Adventure series. More than just a rally or a Bible study, Men's Fraternity provides men with an encouraging process that teaches them how to live lives of authentic manhood as modeled by Christ and directed by the Word of God. Meets every Tuesday at 6:00 am in the Student Ministry Building.

Mission spirit abounds at WCBC with several trips planned per year to various locations. Whether leading Vacation Bible School, giving medical treatment or constructing/remodeling churches, members from West Conroe. return from every trip with testimonies of changed lives.
MOTHER'S DAY OUT

Mothers Day Out began as a ministry to stay-at-home moms who struggle financially, and give up a lot to stay at home with their children. This is an inexpensive way for the mothers to have some time to themselves, and gives the children the opportunity to play with other children. The program operates September through May, on Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. by advance registration. The ministry has grown this year, with only a few remaining openings for children. For information, call the church office.
MUSIC MINISTRY

The music ministry offers ample opportunity for members to share their gifts and talents. The Traditional Choir leads our 8:15 am worship service each Sunday morning and the 10:45 am service is led by the Celebration Choir, Orchestra, Praise Team and Band. All groups combine to present special programs througout the year, including our Easter, Patriotic Celebration and Christmas Presentations. Praise Kids is available for children from age 4 to grade 6.
PRAISE KID'S CHOIR

This is another outreach to children through music and Bible study. There are three different age levels which meet at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday evenings and sing in Worship Services about 4 times a year.
NURSING HOME/ASSISTED LIVING BIBLE STUDY

Services and visits are conducted every week in nursing homes and assisted living facilities around the area. To participate or begin a ministry at another location, you may contact Paul or Lew.
PARENT CONNECTION

Parent Connection was created and designed to give parents a Scripture-based guide toward fulfilling their spiritual purpose as the caregiver and ultimate example of God's children, in His own image. It is based on the ministryt values of our church as described in Acts 2:42-47 - worship, ministry, evanagelism, fellowship and discipleship.
PREGNANCY ASSISTANCE CENTER NORTH

A non-profit Christ-Centered ministry for those involved in a crisis pregnancy.
Counseling which addresses spiritual as well as physical needs is available for both men and women. Items such as maternity clothes, diapers, and wipes are available for needy clients who can earn vouchers for larger items. They can earn these vouchers by doing things that enrich their lives (going to church, reading the Bible and/or books on parenting, or taking parenting classes). West Conroe Baptist Church helps support this ministry with donations and volunteers. (They are always in need of volunteers who work in shifts of 2, 4, or 6 hours)
PRISON MINISTRY (HUNTSVILLE)

Once a month some of our members participate in the ministry by helping with a Sunday Evening service. Volunteers must give Vic Bowman their name and driver's license number in advance for approval by prison authorities.
SALVATION ARMY MEAL

Supported by WCBC through our Benevolence Fund, the food is provided by WCBC and is served by volunteers from the church every 5th Thursday, which is about 3 or 4 times per year. Normally the meal consists of ham, corn, beans and bread (the bread is donated by Mrs. Bairds). Usually the volunteers serve the meal to 75 to 95 people (with enough for seconds) at a cost of approximately $1.35 per plate.
SECOND FRIDAY NIGHT GOSPEL SING

The second Friday of each month at 7:00 p.m., the place to be is the Chapel of West Conroe Baptist Church. There is great Gospel Music featuring local and national groups, and congregational singing. Major gospel concerts are held several times a year.
SINGLES MINISTRY

For all Singles 25 & up, including never married, widowed and divorced. This ministry offers 4 different Bible Study Classes, group fellowship activities, group mission projects and special discipleship classes.

Volunteers are sometimes needed to fill in at the reception desk, answering the phone, etc. Also, occasionally there is a need for help with bulk mailings and other special projects.
WOMEN'S MINISTRY

There are four different areas of ministry for women:
SPECIAL EVENTS: These include the Ladies' Tea, Ladies' Retreat and Daughter's of the King Banquet with other various activities scheduled throughout the year.
WOMAN TO WOMAN MENTORING: Titus 2:3-5 Using the wisdom that comes from life's experiences to help others who are encountering similar experiences in their lives, Christian mentors share how God guides and supports, counsels, and consoles, in both good and bad times. Partnerships change twice each year with new friendships being forged with each new pairing.
MINISTRY: WOMEN ON MISSION: Supports and encourages women to be on mission for God, Ministers to students at Baptist Student Union at SHSU, Promotes and Administer Operation Christmas Child (Church members fill shoe boxes with special items for children at Christmastime), Supports local, state, & foreign missions organizations of the Southern Baptist Convention, Christmas Missionary Phone Calls, Provides a welcome for visiting missionaries at our Hospitality House at Hilltop

WOW Bible Study - A weekday Bible study for women of all ages, but especially for Moms of small children. Meets at 9:30 am in the parlor. Led by Christin Roberts.

Princess Bible Study - A welcoming sisterhood that offers intimacy, acceptance, prayer support, encouragement, trust, safety, fellowship, and joyful acknowledgement of the fact that each woman shares a royal heritage -- each is a child of the King! Meets at 9:30 am in the Parlor. Led by Kathi Herrin.
Wednesday
A Woman After God's Own Heart. This Elizabeth George Bible Study will unleash the love of God in your heart as you begin a ministry of prayer, develop God-confidence, and pursue God's priorities. Become God's woman of excellance in the areas of ministry, marriage, motherhood, spiritual growth, and prayer. Meets at 9;30 am in the Parlor. Led by Neva Wrench.
UPWARD BASKETBALL

Upward Basketball is an evangelistic sports ministry designed to promote community involvement, develop volunteer leadership, and share the love of Christ with children and their families through something as simple as basketball. Upward offers an evangelistic sports ministry specifically designed for kindergarten through sixth grade boys and girls that promotes salvation and self-esteem in every child. Upward provides opportunities for volunteers to become meaningfully involved in the ministries of our church.
VEHICLE MAINTENANCE MINISTRY
